This months selection was totally unanimous. We’ve been working so hard, we can practically smell our wrist cartilage burning. But our workload is nothing compared to the workload of our ergonomic wrist pads. They’ve been working super omega overtime lately. We love them. It’s crazy. Much deserved. Congratulations wrist pads – YOU are the Funky Fresh March Employee of the Month.
FF: “So Dave, how does it feel to be named the February 2010 Employee of the Month?”
Dave: “You guys are so lucky you hired me.”
The votes have been tallied. It’s official! After weeks of deliberation, Cassie has been named the January 2010 Employee of the Month.
A huge congrats goes out to her for all her hard work and dedication to Funky Fresh and just for being an all around good person.
When asked who she’d like to thank, Cassie pulled out a list from her pocket, inhaled deeply as she held back tears and began to read: “I’d just like to thank the little person. Without his excessive napping in December, I wouldn’t have been able to design four websites, two magazines, 42 banner ads, six email newsletters, 25 Christmas cards, two posters and bake cookies for client meetings.”

Breaking news! Joey Ryan & The Inks have finally received their debut album, Well, Here We Are Then, back from being mastered. All that is standing between you and this album is having the discs pressed, packed up and delivered to their much anticipated CD release party on December 18th. We’ve been given some top secret VIP listening access over the last year and you must believe us: these cats have some tasty bits in store for your ears. Lucky for you, Funky Fresh blog reader, JR & the Inks have given us permission to share a couple of these songs with you. Hi again friends. How would you like a little virtual tour of our space? Grab a cuppa coffee – we’d love to show you around! Many people wonder what sort of challenges we face everyday by working out of our home. Honestly, there really aren’t a ton. We’re super disciplined, have a crazy good work ethic and we feel like we redesigned the house and it’s decor to completely maximize our productivity.
The look and feel of our workspace is über important to us. Our goal was to create a nice marriage of IKEA purchases and local thrift store finds. Keeping our space bright, clean and comfortable helps us stay focused. There are several places we can escape to brainstorm and get work done. Each one of them has three key elements: comfort, good lighting and inspiring wall décor.
The things we look at and listen to everyday keep us inspired to create beautiful, functional work. We love music. So in addition to constantly having a mix playing in the background, we’ve framed and hung quite a few screenprinted gig posters on our walls. The style of these posters fit so well with the rest of our décor, we couldn’t resist plastering them all over the house.

So I designed this new poster with plans of screen printing it for the Joey Ryan & the Inks show at Augustana’s football game on October 17th. Then I had to suddenly leave town for a week the day I was to begin print production on it. Here’s the big question: if I print it when I return home, would anyone still be interested in purchasing a poster print? Friends! Welcome to our new home. Somewhere between multi-website launches, lightning-fast turnaround print designs and NERF wars we found some time to update our look. Our goal was to clean things up a bit as well as develop an area to showcase our work. Check it out and let us know what you think. Filter by specific skill or browse the entire collection. Either way, after you take a peek, go ahead and drop us a line. We love feedback.
Besides the basic re-fresh and new work section we’ve made a few other exciting changes. This blog is a little cleaner and our content management system is super robust. You’ll just have to just trust me, since you don’t get to see it. Dave also cleverly added some random stuff to the ‘funky‘ page to increase the download time so you don’t miss his pre-loader (he loves his pre-loaders).
We’re also updating our social media handles. Our Twitter name is changing as well as our Facebook fan page. We plan to release all new work updates and announcements via Tweets and Wall posts so it’s in your best interest to follow and friend us. Please and thank you.
